Bizum Hoca is a Black Sea native who, despite not completing his education, is self-taught. He learned everything he knows about religious scholarship from his father, Ahmet Fevzi Hoca, an Islamic scholar. After losing his wife Makbule, Bizum Hoca has not let anyone into his life and is a person whom everyone consults for advice. A cheerful and jovial individual, the teacher also focuses on the spirituality of the Islamic faith. He teaches his congregation that being a moral and conscientious person is as important and universal a value as worship.
