We Others Will Not

The film “We Others Will Not” emerged as a direct continuation of numerous meetings and conversations with Sergei Bodrov Jr. and Alexei Balabanov. The idea to reflect again on the phenomenon of Sergei Bodrov Jr.’s identity belongs to Evgeniy Nikishov and Valeriy Fedorovich. Together we decided to go on this difficult journey. Close friends and colleagues talk about Sergei: the producer Sergei Selyanov, the designer Nadezhda Vasilyeva, the composer Vyacheslav Butusov, the cinematographer Sergei Astakhov, and also… Sergei Bodrov Jr. and the director Alexei Balabanov, whose films “Brother” and “Brother 2” acquired popular fame at the threshold of the 2000s.

Brother

Danila goes to his successful brother, Victor, in Petersburg to start a new life. Unknown to Danila, Victor is a contract killer, but is in hiding after asking for too much money to assassinate a Chechen mob boss. To avoid exposure, Victor convinces Danila to kill the boss instead.

From Russia with Rock

A Finnish documentary about the feelings of a rock generation in the Soviet Union during Gorbachev's regime: the film follows underground bands' rise to publicity, the country's first "official" rock festival called the Moscow Rock Panorama-87 and the rocket-like ascent of Uralian Nautilus Pompilius into the starry sky of Soviet rock. Mirror for a Hero

Sergei and Andrei are walking through a city park and see that a film shoot set just post World War II is taking place . They climb over the park fence to get a better view but hit some cable lying on the ground and find themselves in the past - on May 8, 1949, a day which they seem doomed to relive over and over again.

Dream of the Red Chamber

Documentary about rock club in the city of Sverdlovsk, USSR. The title is not connected to the communist ideology, it's a reference to one of China's Four Great Classical Novels. The idea is that the phenomenon of Soviet rock music is as extensive and complicated as the structure of the book. Featuring rock bands: "Агата Кристи", "Чайф", "Наутилус Помпилиус", rock singer Nastya Poleva and her band "Настя"

Nastya and Egor

The main characters of the film are members of the group "Nastya" Nastya Poleva and Yegor Belkin. The half-hour half-documentary tape included footage taken by Balabanov in 1985-1990. In addition to the main characters, the documentary footage captured many prominent figures of Sverdlovsk rock club, in particular Vyacheslav Butusov, Leonid Porokhnyu, and local actors.

There used to be another time

The story unfolding during one day, tells about the male vileness and ever-hard female share ... The action takes place against the background of the first hits of the young group "Nautilus Pompilius" ...
