Architect Robert Kant is in a hurry to get to the office in his hire car when he crashes into Teresa's van full of ceramics and plunges into the lake. Teresa fishes him ashore, but Robert has lost his memory and all his papers. So Teresa gives him shelter. While the village police mistake him for the Chinese man Cheng, the little ones make friends with Robert. Teresa also likes his sense of humor. But Robert can't suppress his old life forever...
