Alişan, a former senator, runs a motel in a seaside town with his daughter Ayşe, son-in-law Orhan, and sons Bahadır and Mehmet. Orhan married Ayşe, whom he met at teacher training college. They are living happily. Orhan, a former teacher who has been dismissed from his job, enjoys a happy married life, but this is turned upside down when Menekşe arrives in town. This is because the young woman sees Orhan as a resemblance to her deceased husband, whom she refuses to believe is dead. This resemblance leads to a forbidden relationship between them. This affair quickly spreads throughout the town. After various events, Orhan receives news that Menekşe has committed suicide. Menekşe's body is recovered from the sea.
