In 1997, Hirano Katsuyuki, a married, middle-aged AV director, and his 26-year-old actress and lover, Hayashi Yumika, set out to cycle from Tokyo to Hokkaido. Two video versions of their trip already exist, the intimate documentary Yumika and its gonzo porno alter ego 41-Day Adultery Bicycle Tour. Hirano’s Kantoku Shikkaku reframes this ambiguous relationship in light of Yumika’s death in 2005.

Yumika Hayashi: Kabukicho Image Club Story

In this ambitious work, popular actress Hayashi Yumika plays a fictional version of herself, transformed into the queen of an image club. Under the direction of Fukamachi Akira, who knows the pink film world inside and out, Sese Takahisa has written an elaborate script, and this masterpiece disguises itself as a fake documentary but turns into a story of pure love. Taro (Araki Taro) goes undercover to an image club in Kabukicho to film a new documentary about the sex industry. As Taro (Araki Taro) and his former colleague, Yumika (Hayashi Yumika), who is now a popular image club owner, engage in some intense play in front of the camera, the flames of love begin to flare up.

Kabachitare!

Tokiwa stars as Tamura Nozumi, with a cheerful outlook in life, always choosing to believe in everyone. Fukatsu stars as Sakada Chiharu, an amanuensis (daisho) but goes way beyond her jobscope in carrying out her work. The duo met in a clinic where Sakada helps Nozumi get back at her boss for sexual harassment. Sakada sees a flair in Nozumi to be in the same line of work, but Nozumi is content with her job as a waitress.

Lunch Box

The film tells the story of Aiko, a 35-year-old mute woman who works in a bowling alley, and her brief romance with Yoshioka, a younger man who works as a postal carrier. The two meet when Aiko accidentally knocks Yoshioka off his bicycle, and they have a sexual encounter soon after. Aiko begins preparing lunchboxes and giving them to Yoshioka at his workplace as a way of expressing affection, which she cannot do verbally.
