A Soviet three-part television miniseries directed by Vasily Levin loosely based on the novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Captain Nemo

For several years as a terrible sea monster drowns ships of the Navy. In a small number of ships that managed to survive, in the sides were found huge holes triangular shape. Now any exit to the sea is deadly, so America sends a special frigate called Blue Star. His goal is to find and destroy the terrible monster. One of the participants of the punitive expedition is a famous Professor from France – Pierre Aronnax. He has a deep knowledge of the mysteries of the deep sea. The search for the monster continues for more than three months, but in the end, the frigate still detects it and immediately starts the attack mode. After an unsuccessful battle with the monster ship goes to the bottom, and the Professor, his servant Conseil and whaler Ned Land get on a submarine and make an amazing journey under water.

The Brothers Karamazov

Based on the novel of the same name by Fyodor Dostoevsky. The tragic story of the Karamazov family takes place in a Russian province in the late 19th century. The relations of their father and three brothers are very complicated and contradictory. One of the brothers is accused of killing his father, whom he did not commit. The brothers are unable to help him, and only a loving girl follows him to hard labour.

Two Captains

Based on the novel of the same name by Veniamin Kaverin. From childhood, Sanya Grigoryev was able to achieve success in any business. He grew up a courageous and brave man. The dream of finding the remnants of Captain Tatarinov’s expedition led him to the ranks of polar explorers. The life of Captain Grigoryev is full of heroic events: he flew over the Arctic, fought against the Nazis. He was in danger, had to endure temporary defeats, but the hero’s persistent and purposeful character helps him to keep his vow made to himself in childhood: “Fight and seek, find and not give up.”

Ring

Investigating the murder of a cash-collector, Major Isaev, a former boxing champion, comes to the conclusion that the killer is a boxer. To catch the criminal, Peter Isaev takes an unconventional decision. He applies to participate in the city's boxing championship, hoping that the criminal will probably come to watch the former champion fight. Isayev has to overcome each stage of the championship with difficulty: it has been five years since he left the ring...
