Jade O'Keeffe, the best high priced call girl in LA, decides to give up the trade. She breaks the news to her best client, Hal. On a midnight swim, Hal tries to drown Jade but is thwarted by passing neighbor Eric. Later Jade decides to take one last client. Chet, the new client arrives with a woman which wasn't part of the deal. Chet and his friend were sent to kill Jade, after Chet slaps her, Jade returns from the bathroom with a gun; she shoots Chet in the hand and forces the couple out of the house. Looking for safety, and not able to sell the house; Jade takes in roommates; the eccentric Joy and her sister Lindsay; and attorney Perry Quinn.Perry is recovering from the death of her fiancee, and ends up reacquainting herself with Roger, an old high school friend. Jade is held for the weekend without bail, she asks Perry to help her and suggests she talks to Hal so he can corroborate her story; Lindsay goes to the studio to get fitted on her first day at work, while on her way in she runs into Eric who tells her that he is trying to get his script produced and has backed out of his parents movie; Perry talks to Hal who says he will lie for Jade but they never had the conversation that Jade said they had; Lindsay gets fired from the show while still being fitted; Joy confronts Scott who tells her that he was fired as well as the network head thought he was sleeping with Lindsay; Joy tells Perry she has a business meeting and goes to Scott's where she sees him with a woman having sex; Lindsay runs into Eric who suggests she reads for a part in his new film about the plight of homeless people, she hesitantly agrees to read the script and likes it but Joy, once again, warns her about Eric; Perry is still having problems locating Roger; Jade has her

Joy visits Jade in jail and tells her she thinks it was a wise decision to fire Perry as Perry seems to have a drinking problem, she also brings a magazine with an article about Camilla Freemont and tells Jade she can't believe the resemblance between the woman and Jade, but Jade insists she doesn't have any family; Joe comes to see Perry about Jade's case implying the mysterious circumstances of her case could be a cover-up as Roger returns; Roger tells Perry that he was scared of getting hurt again and needed time; Joy brings coffee to Scott sending out his one night stand, she tells Scott that she can get his job back if he gets Lindsay a television show, they agree to work together. Scott tells her that Nielson, the network president has a mistress and created fake companies on network money to give her income. They decide to break into the network office. Lindsay sneaks out of the house to meet Eric to talk about his movie script, she tells him that Joy won't let her do it and he
