Detective Khairul Malik is harbouring a secret, one that even his girlfriend, Aisya, isn’t privy to. Matters are complicated by the discovery of a twenty year old corpse, which sets into motion a string of deadly events. His life is upended when he meets Sofia, a girl who has the ability to foretell a person’s death. When she predicts a horrific tragedy, Sofia comes to the attention of the police and the scion of an insurance magnate, Lokman Nazir. Intrigued by Sofia’s peculiar gift, Malik convinces her to work with him to save lives, but their good intentions result in tragedy. Meanwhile, the delivery of a tape causes turmoil in Malik and Aisya’s relationship as her dark secret begins to unravel.

Bunian law enforcement official 444 aka Black is on the hunt for his rogue partner, 419 who has escaped to the human world. Realising that 419 has inhabited a human body, Black decides to possess Malik’s body to keep pace with him. To the eyes of humans, ‘Malik’ has miraculously survived a close shave with death and in the process lost his memory. Meanwhile, Sofia realises that ‘Malik’ is her childhood sweetheart and is wracked by guilt for putting him in harm’s way. But ‘Malik’ is now Black – rude, self-centred and single-minded about his mission. Will he ever remember who she is? Black finds himself confronted with a gruesome murder while trying to navigate the human world. Worse, a mysterious man appears to be shadowing his every move.

Black begins to revel in his human body. But inhabiting a human body is a Class A offence in the Bunian world – he receives an ultimatum – he must find 419 or suffer the most horrifying of punishments. Yet another murder case takes place, equally as horrific as the last one. It seems that the victim is somewhat connected to Aisya. A scarred face man appears to torment her … who is he and why does she do his bidding? Sofia finds out that her father may have been murdered and this leads her to Makhkota Insurance’s CEO, Lokman Nazir who has access to her father’s old file … and potentially clues to the identity of his killer.

In exchange for her father’s file, Lokman persuades Sofia to come under his employment and use her powers to determine which of his clients are about to meet their deaths. In the course of her job, Sofia encounters Black who in turn discovers that Sofia’s powers may be the key to helping him hunt down 419. However, his brash manner rubs her off the wrong way and he finds himself out in the cold. In a bid to win her back, Black investigates Malik’s shooting in order to convince Sofia that she was not the reason why he was shot. Sofia’s stance softens somewhat and she agrees to help him recover his memories. But things become complicated when Black unravels more clues about Malik’s death and realise that his life is in real danger.

With an assassin on his trail, Black realises that his time in Malik’s body may be running out. He must quickly complete his mission and his only hope is convincing Sofia to help him. He discovers a secret room in Malik’s house containing items that Malik was clearly hiding. Meanwhile, Sofia foresees a murder so harrowing it spurs her to action. She persuades Black to travel to their hometown of Seri Setia to investigate the case. Strangely, Borhan’s investigation of Nurul Najwa’s case also leads him to Seri Setia. There, he reunites with an old colleague, who harbours a secret about the 20-year old cold case.

At Seri Setia, Black and Sofia work together to stop a potential murder. Whilst there, Black experiences flashbacks of Malik’s past, a phenomenon that baffles him. The trip is also a turning point for how Sofia perceives her abilities. Her willingness to sacrifice her life to save another’s makes Black see her anew. Is love in the air? He is both intrigued by her and completely confused by her, a feeling that is alien to the self-centred Black. But the shine of the day is lost when Black returns home to find Malik’s hidden room ransacked and emptied of all its contents. Meanwhile, the assassin claims another victim and Detective Borhan learns that the death is connected to Nurul Najwa’s murder.

A secret tape is revealed, one that has been the source of Aisya’s anxiety along with her dark, secret past. To her horror, Aisya finds herself the target of the assassin. Sofia agrees to help Black find 419 although he disguises the case as an investigation into a death threat on Sofia’s celebrity crush, Leo Raja Vokal. They spot a possible bunian hiding in a human body, but he escapes. Black has good reason to keep tabs on Leo, whose former manager was the late brother-in-law of 419. Black suspects that 419 will seek revenge on Leo and when he does, he will be ready to haul him back to the bunian world. Meanwhile, Borhan continues to investigate the murders and uncovers Seri Setia’s sordid past.

Lokman decides to throw a masquerade ball in order to create positive buzz for his insurance company. Since Leo will also be in attendance, Sofia convinces Black to attend the ball with her, forcing him to learn how to dance. But once at the party he witnesses Sofia and Lokman dancing together and experiences jealousy, an emotion he is unfamiliar with. Meanwhile, Aisya is on her way to the airport when she receives a mysterious phone call from someone using Black’s phone. The mystery caller warns Aisya that Malik’s life is in danger unless she turns up at the masquerade ball. Will Black finally apprehend 419 or will the assassin stop him in his tracks and throw his mission into disarray? For if he loses possession of Malik’s body, so too will he lose his connection to Sofia, the human woman who has touched his heart.
