Buiten De Zone
Buiten De Zone (translated as "Out of the Zone") is a Flemish youth series (1994-1996) about five volunteers at the Jongerenfoon, a helpline that rarely receives calls. Out of boredom, they fantasize about absurd and humorous situations, where reality and fiction constantly blur. Each episode revolves around a theme such as love, fear, or fame. The series is known for its humor, satire, and social criticism and has become a cult classic.

1. De jongerenfoon
Vier jonge mensen houden als vrijwilliger permanentie voor de jongerfoon: een hulplijn voor tieners met problemen. De lijn is echter zo slecht gepromoot dat zij zelden of nooit telefoon krijgen. En als ze dan al eentje binnenkrijgen geeft dit aanleiding om hun fantasieën de vrije loop te laten. Dromen die al snel een eigen grappige wending nemen. En dan krijgen ze plots een telefoon die de rust in de centrale helemaal verstoort.
2. Betere tijden
Merel tracht in de centrale van de jongerenfoon haar geschiedenisles te leren. Dat wordt moeilijk wanneer Roxanne ondertussen voor school een fotoreportage over de seventies wil maken. De anderen fantaseren ondertussen hoe he tmoet geweest zijn om in een andere tijd te hebben geleefd. Ze dromen al snel weg naar hele bizarre situaties. Een alcoholcontrole in de Middeleeuwen, de telefoon in de zestiende eeuw, een inbrekersbetoging, AIDS in het jaar 2000, seksuele opvoeding bij u thuis.
3. Beroemd
De Jongerenfoon heeft dringend wat publiciteit nodig. Roxanne krijgt de geniale inval om bekende mensen in te schakelen voor hun project. En dit geeft aanleiding tot allerlei fantasieën. Hoe zou het voelen om een bekende Vlaming te zijn, herkend te worden op straat, mee te doen in spelletjesprogramma's. Maar beroemd zijn is één probleem. Het worden is een ander. Verder krijg je een slaapwandelwedstrijd, geschiedenisfiguren en hun fans, ziekelijke handtekeningjagers...
4. Avontuur
Verveling slaat toe op de Jongerenfoon. Merel herinnert zich een vreemde droom over een waarzegster die haar waarschuwde voor groot onheil, seks en oorlog. En dan krijgen ze plots een vreemde oproep binnen. En die oproep sleept hen mee in de wildste avonturen: van Indiana Jones tot James Bond, van seks tijdens de kruistochten tot het verzet in de Tweede Wereldoorlog. En wie is toch die knappe, donkere vreemdeling?
5. Geld
Raf oefent op de centrale voor zijn praktisch rijexamen. Roxanne heeft vreselijke tandpijn. Een oproep over zakgeld zet de vijf aan het werk. Maar al snel beginnen ze te fantaseren over glitter en glamour, rijkdom en bankovervallen. En zoals gewoonlijk lopen hun dromen lichtjes uit de hand.
6. Angst
De vijf moeten noodgedwongen de nacht in de telefooncentrale doorbrengen. Buiten woedt een hevige storm en binnen is alle stroom uitgevallen. Maar het wordt pas echt griezelig wanneer ze onder het schijnsel van kaarslicht één voor één over hun diepste angsten vertellen. En dan is er nog het vreemde buurmannetje dat door de gangen van het gebouw waart...
7. Talent
Raf oefent als goochelaar voor het verjaardagsfeestje van zijn neefje. Wanneer Roxanne vertelt dat ze een filmaanbieding gekregen heeft van een charmante regisseur, wordt Raf overbezorgd. Hij vertrouwt het zaakje niet en besluit haar te volgen, samen met de kinderen van het verjaardagsfeestje. Robin doet ondertussen verwoede pogingen om een interim-job vast te krijgen. hij droomt zichzelf in allerlei spannende beroepen.
8. Eeuwig leven
Raf's grootmoeder is overleden. Merel vindt dat ze hem moet opvangen. Maar hoe? Al snel beginnen ze te filosoferen over het leven, de dood en het leven na de dood. Dat voert hen via de wildste omzwervingen naar de hemel, waar ze een ontmoeting hebben met de man met de zeis. Vinden zij het antwoord in het hiernamaals? En mogen ze nog terug?
9. Liefde
Merel moet een originele huistaak maken over 'De Liefde'. Samen met Roxanne besluit ze een videoreportage te maken à la Jambers over het liefdesleven in Vlaanderen. Robin en Ubi hebben daar zo hun bedenkingen bij. Raf, die ondertussen vreselijk verliefd is geworden op Roxanne, tracht haar op de meest bizarre manieren zijn liefde te verklaren. Wanneer hij plots hulp krijgt uit een totaal onverwachte hoek, draait alles anders uit dan hij had kunnen vermoeden...
10. Vriendschap
Net nu de telefooncentrale goed begint te lopen, krijgen de vijf vrijwilligers een zware klap te verwerken: de Jongerenfoon wordt opgedoekt. Is er leven na de Jongerenfoon, of is dit het einde? Zal hun vriendschap blijven standhouden? En wat met de hooligans, huurmoordenaars, sprookjesfiguren, getuigen van Jehova en kannibalen die in deze aflevering rondlopen? Zullen zij ervoor kunnen zorgen dat de Jongerenfoon zal blijven bestaan?
