Cribb
Adapted from Peter Lovesey's Sergeant Cribb novels and set in Victorian London around the time of the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888, Alan Dobie starred as the tough Detective Sergeant who worked for the newly formed Criminal Investigation Department, determined to remove crime from the streets of London using the latest detection methods.

Cribb and Thackery investigate when three female students are out for a midnight a swim witness see a body being dumped in the river. They then find themselves re - enacting scene from Three men in a boat.
2. Abracadaver
Cribb and Thackery try to discover who is trying to sabotage a series of music hall out.
3. The Detective Wore Silk Drawers
When a headless corpse is dragged out of the river it sends Cribb and Thackery investigating into the murky world of bare knuckles fighting.
4. The Horizontal Witness
When a body is found in a bothel Cribb finds himself investigating the murder of the man known as the king of London vice; when a link with a major hospital discovered Thackery has his part to play when he is admitted for an operation to treat a nasty case for the old Farmer Giles.
5. Wobble to Death
Cribb and Thackery investigate when one of the competitors in the world Pedestrian championship is murdered.
6. Something Old, Something New
When Thackery is asked to be the best man of the wedding for an old friend of his father, Cribb discover that several of the young brides previous elderly husbands died suddenly.
7. A Case of Spirts
When Cribb and Thackery investigate the theft of a valuable painting it sees them enter a murky world of spiritualism and murder.
