Davey and Goliath
Davey and Goliath is a 1960s stop-motion animated children's Christian television series. The programs, produced by the Lutheran Church in America, were produced by Art Clokey after the success of his Gumby series. Each 15-minute episode features the adventures of Davey Hansen and his "talking" dog Goliath as they learn the love of God through everyday occurrences.

1. Lost in a Cave
A young man faces life's ups and downs with his canine companion.

2. Stranded on an Island
Davey and his family rent a boat to picnic on an island far off shore. Davey's father loses track of the time and when the Hansen family prepares to return home, they discover the tide has run out and their boat is beached far from the water line.

3. The Wild Goat
While on a hike, Davey rescues a mountain goat who had a leg broken by a fallen tree limb. When he brings the goat home to recuperate, the wild creature's antics soon have Davey in hot water.

4. The Winner
Jealous and envious of his friend Mike, Davey enters a soap box derby.

5. The New Skates
Disobeying his mother, Davey skates on thin ice and falls through. Thankfully, Goliath is there to rescue him.

6. Cousin Barney
Davey is amazed that his father continues to show affection to Barney, Davey's annoying young cousin who has come for a visit.

7. The Kite
Davey and his friends try to build a kite, but their feverish efforts to get it aloft are at cross-purposes and result in disaster.

8. The Mechanical Man
Davey is fascinated by a new remote controlled robot toy until he realizes it cannot love.

9. The Time Machine
Taking imaginary trips in a time machine, Davey, Sally, and Goliath see that God's love transcends time.

10. On the Line
Davey makes a string telephone and talks to his unseen parents to show his friends how it's possible to talk to God when God is invisible.

11. The Polka Dot Tie
Davey and friends reject Nat because he wears a funny tie, but they soon realize God rejects no one.

12. All Alone?
During a family outing, Davey hops a ride on a train and is trapped inside all by himself, but he is comforted remembering that "God is everywhere."

Through flashback, Davey learns about pilgrims.

14. The Silver Mine
Ignoring "Danger" signs, Davey finds himself trapped in an abandoned mine, and he must rely on Sally and Goliath for help.

Davey wants his Dad to win him a prize by bowling six strikes in a row.

16. Boy Lost
While visiting a carnival, Davey gets separated from his father. Though he's frightened, Davey is sure his father will find him.

17. Sudden Storm
During a family vacation, the Hansens get caught in a storm and the lights go out.

18. The Bell-Ringer
Davey helps Mr. Opp, a bell ringer at Davey's church, by winding clocks while Mr. Opp is out of town.

19. Not For Sale
After he loses one of his father's skis, Davey learns he can't buy forgiveness.

20. The Shoemaker
At first suspicious of an immigrant shoemaker, Davey learns compassion for the man and his sick wife.

21. The Runaway
Davey runs off to the circus, but the daily chores of the circus send him back home where he belongs.

22. Officer Bob
Davey and the other kids are promised a ride on the fire engine for following Office Bob's safety lessons. Davey disobeys one and, feeling guilty, doesn't attend the group. His father teaches him the lesson of forgiveness.

23. The Parade
Joining in a parade, Davey and Goliath hope to win the prize-a pony. Goliath stars as a fierce lion.

24. Dog Show
Davey trains Goliath to roller skate and decides he wants to organize a dog show for Goliath to compete in. The local television station hears of the dog show and decides to broadcast it but Davey breaks his leg while practicing.

25. Down on the Farm
Davey tries his hand at gardening, but is neglectful of his chores. Davey learns that God sends sun and rain, but it's up to him to do the rest.

26. The Waterfall
Davey attempts to rescues Goliath after he falls in a river. Together they go over a waterfall, and Davey must help an injured Goliath.

27. Happy Landing
Davey compares his neighbor Hank to God after watching him do his job as an air traffic controller, but Hank quickly sets Davey straight.

28. Editor In Chief
As editor-in-chief of his own small newspaper, Davey lands a big scoop, but he turns it over to the real newspaper's editor-in-chief.

29. Man of the House
Davey learns responsibility as his parents leave him in charge to babysit Sally while they are away.

30. Bully Up a Tree
Davey and Goliath get into a fight with a bully and his dog,but later seeing the boy in trouble, Davey forgives him.

31. The Big Apple
Davey is angry because his father allowed his younger sister, Sally, to join them on what he thought would be a father-son outing. When Davey meets a fatherless farm boy on the trip, he realizes how important a father is to all his children.

32. The Bridge
Using his ingenuity, Davey rescues Sally after a foot bridge they were walking on breaks.

33. The Jickets
Davey doesn't agree with his fellow club members, The Jickets, so they kick him out of the club.

34. Lemonade Stand
When Mr. Hansen fixes Sally's doll carriage instead of helping Davey build a lemonade stand, a jealous Davey soon learns his father loves his children equally.

35. Hocus Pocus
Davey and Teddy, helping Lorenzo the magician with his magic act, learn that magicians only do tricks, but God's miracles are real.

36. Good Neighbor
To celebrate "Good Neighbor Week" the townspeople give out balloons to the children. Davey misses out on the festivities because he decides to help a small child find her way home instead.

37. A Dillar, A Dollar
Davey and Teddy are sent to Principal Denny's office for tardiness, but to their surprise Principal Denny is understanding, not harsh.

38. Rags and Buttons
Sally is crowned queen at a festival, but she loses her favorite rag doll in the process. Davey helps his sister by finding the doll for her.

39. Jeep in the Deep
During a ferry ride, the Hansen family's jeep falls overboard. Davey and his father go scuba diving to see where it landed.
