Rita's disgust dragged her into a deep lethargy. She doesn't care about her image, she has a messy house for days and an empty fridge. To make matters worse, at the advertising agency where she is a copywriter, they remove her from the campaign she was working on. Rita knows she needs to react, but she lacks the strength. It was at this moment that she discovered Appy, an application that promises happiness in other people's lives. Feeling that she has nothing left to lose, Rita decides to try out the first life available. For brief moments she takes on the life of Filipa, a mother living in an extreme situation. But the adrenaline she feels from this experience disappears when she returns to her life, where everything remains equally bleak. Now that she's discovered Appy, Rita can't resist escaping to another night of solitude in her house. This time she will live the life of Benedita, a raver at a party where the application makes the first error. Will this mistake affect her life?

Returning to her life, Rita finds an ownerless dog, which she ends up becoming fond of. Carlota, her boss, gives her a new opportunity and gives her back the campaign she wanted so much. But Rita has a creative block. Once again unable to deal with the problems in her life, she enters another Appy experience, where she will face the challenges of a profession very different from hers. Although she is enjoying feeling alive in other people's shoes, Rita is confronted for the first time with the consequences of this game: when she is away, someone occupies her life. Rita does not reveal to anyone that she is an Appy user, but she suspects that her colleague Vicente also downloaded the application. When she wakes up again without direction and Appy offers her several available lives, Rita embarks on a new five-hour experience. What life will Rita occupy this time?

While experiencing a life in which she has power and money, Rita takes the opportunity to benefit for herself. Returning to her life, she comes with more energy and manages to get a new campaign assigned to her at the agency. In grief therapy, Rita finally addresses the guilt she feels over the death of her best friend Bia. It is also at this moment that she begins to become more curious about the design and operation of Appy and asks Francisco for help. While Rita is away, the users who occupy her life are creating a relationship with her neighbor Pedro, who doesn't suspect anything, but seems to like this "new" Rita.

Rita wakes up in her bed to a terrifying scene, but she doesn't waste time figuring out what happened while she was away at Appy, because she has a campaign to present. The client loves Rita's proposal and the agency wins the client. Rita asks grandmother Lola for help to produce the campaign. At night, her colleagues celebrate Rita's victory in a bar and for a moment Rita drinks happily. But upon arriving home, once again faced with Bia's absence, Rita runs away to Appy. Maybe this time for a better life? While she is away, her friend Cindy will meet a different Rita and be confused. Upon returning to her life, the application fails again and her friends end up arguing.

Rita and her grandmother Lola go on a road trip to Figueira da Foz. Lola lived a large part of her life in Figueira and through her memories, she tries to help Rita understand the mysteries of life. They play at the casino, walk along the beach and eat seafood. When they return, Lola helps Rita take a step forward in mourning Bia's death. Rita is now more positive and focused on her life. She has a normal day at work, makes up with Cindy and has a romantic date. But upon returning home she discovers a mysterious party: a parallel reality of Appy.

Rita is forced to enter Appy to get out of the mysterious party. Surprisingly, she takes on the life of someone much younger. But she still feels the need to investigate the party. The mystery deepens when Francisco goes to Rita and gives her worrying news about Appy. But it is Rita herself who, upon meeting Vicente by chance, discovers a terrible secret about the application.

With the help of Francisco, Rita hacks the life of a famous person to re-enter Appy and look for clues that will help her understand the application. But her efforts are in vain and life ends without Rita getting the answers she needs.

At the same time as she investigates Appy, Rita prepares a party at her house to remember the day that Bia would celebrate her 34th birthday. Rita feels better and stronger. In a final use of Appy, Rita will be the victim of a fatal error.
