High school student Homura Suzuko has returned to Ikebukuro, the town where she grew up. But when she gets to school, she finds she has trouble fitting in with the rest of the class. One day, she decides that if she learns to play the card game Wixoss, she might be able to make some friends. She buys a deck set, and when she opens it, the girl on one of the cards begins to move, and speak. "Welcome, Selector." Selectors must battle for control of the five coins that hold all their memories. If they can retake all the coins, they win, and can leave the game. But if they lose, as a penalty--
Seasons

1. Memories / Front and Back
Suzuko Homura has moved back to Ikebukuro, the town where she grew up. She's struggling to fit in after her long absence, but hopes that she can see her old friend Chinatsu Morikawa. When she sees the other girls playing the popular card game WIXOSS, she decides to learn to play as well, in hopes that she'll be able to make more friends. But when she takes her deck home, one of the cards starts to speak to her, and it tells her that she's been drawn into a potentially deadly game.

2. Girl / Ideal and Reality
Chinatsu is an unlucky girl, a hard-worker who's trying her best to earn enough money to stay in her expensive private school. Her luck takes an even bigger turn for the worse when she's caught up in the WIXOSS game. Under heavy stress and facing the possibility of annihilation, she loses her temper and lashes out at a fellow student. The only thing keeping her going is her desire to be a good role model for her old friend Suzuko, and even that is starting to waver...

3. Selector / Honey and Poison
What does it mean to "disappear"? Suzuko and Hanna find out that out that the truth may be more terrifying than they imagined. Hanna defeats a player and takes all of her coins, and is surprised to find the result isn't what she expects. And Suzuko learns from a boy who lost his little sister that the price for losing the game is paid by more people than just the loser.

4. Reunion / Bright Light and Chaos
Suzuko and Hanna follow the rumors of a "broker", a man who will set up Wixoss matches for those who need them. When Suzuko hears that Chinatsu is involved with the broker, she agrees to enter his system in exchange for her whereabouts. But when she finally does meet Chinatsu, she finds that the encounter doesn't go as planned...

5. Friend / Bonds and Chains
Chinatsu and Suzuko are finally reunited, but it doesn't go like Suzuko had hoped. Chinatsu wants to be rid of her memories of Suzuko. Then the bookmaker sets Hanna up in a game with Suzuko. Suzuko is unable to refuse, and is forced to fight a superior player.

6. Battle / Past and Present
Chinatsu is determined to be rid of her memories of Suzuko, and she'll do whatever it takes to make that happen. Even if that means working with the bookmaker, and forcing other selectors to sign contracts that could cost them their memories. When he sets up a fight between her and Suzuko though, will she really be willing to make her old friend disappear?

7. Evolution / Pure White and Pitch Black
After her disastrous battle with Chinatsu, Suzuko is forced to make a decision: how far is she willing to go to save her friend? She starts bribing Hanna with delicious sweets from the local bakeries, and in exchange, Hanna teaches her how to get better at WIXOSS. Chinatsu, for her part, is continuing to work for the bookmaker, and drawing ever closer to a rematch with Suzuko....

8. Darkness / Fervent Desire and Loss
Satomi is toying with Chinatsu, but he has other projects he's working on, too. To kill some time, he decides to take one of the players who only has one coin left, and challenge them directly. As he slowly draws them closer to their doom, he reveals surprising secrets about who he really is...

9. Truth / Ending and Beginning
Hanna has four coins, and is very close to the five needed to escape the game. When you win the Wixoss game, you're given the opportunity to change any memory you have, and she wants to find out what happened when her brother died, years ago. She's forgotten, and she can't remember no matter how hard she tries. But when she finally gets the answer, will it be what she wants?

10. Devouring Prey / Tragedy and Comedy
Hanna is deeply depressed after finding out the truth about what happened with her little brother. Suzuka wants to make her feel better, but is failing. Meanwhile, Kou is setting up a battle intended to shatter Chinatsu's mind. Will Shiraishi be able to defeat Rio, when she's only a young girl?

11. The Two / Suzuko and Chinatsu
Chinatsu and Suzuko are maneuvered into a final battle after Donor takes over her owner's body. Chinatsu wants to be rid of Suzuko. Suzuko wants to save Chinatsu. Whose wish is stronger? And what does Chinatsu really want?

12. Dawn
Chinatsu and Suzuko have reconciled, but Satomi isn't happy. He challenges Suzuko to one last battle. But can Suzuko win against a player who can change his cards at will, and who can use any power he wants? And even if she does, what will the cost of her victory be? And what will happen to the rest of the WIXOSS game?
