Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari
Filled with rage against spirits known as tsukumogami, Kunato Hyoma is sent to live with Nagatsuki Botan to help him see a different side. Though both are part of a clan that return the spirits back to their world with divine powers, their experiences with the otherworldly vessels are vastly different. Kunato, robbed of a loved one, and Nagatsuki, saved by them. Can she get through to him?

Kunato Hyoma, who harbors a hatred for tsukumogami, is forced to live with a house full of them and their enigmatic mistress, Nagatsuki Botan.

2. Shoreline
A bad first impression threatens to get Hyoma kicked out of his new home after only three days if he can't win over his tsukumogami hosts.

3. Overflow
Hyoma has one more tsukumogami's support to earn before he'll be allowed to stay in the Nagatsuki household... but Yu seems completely unyielding.

4. Arrangement
Having earned his right to remain in the Nagatsuki residence for a year, Hyoma learns about the ulterior motive behind his stay.

5. Suspicions
An overly cautious Hyoma is forced to remove protective talismans he set up around the town, and learns more about Nagatsuki Botan in the process.

After his cryptic encounter with Aogi, Hyoma is determined to learn more about Botan. Haori is happy to explain, if only he'll be willing to listen...

7. Quickening
Hyoma visits the Saenome of Kyoto, the Kadomori Clan, to get permission to act on their territory. But the Kadomoris have their own intentions...

8. Circumstances
A curveball thrown at Hyoma by Kadomori Taiju forces him to confront some of the ways he's changed.

Hyoma teams up with Yu and Tsubaki to fight a gang of tsukumogami who've begun targeting Kadomoris for torture.

Tsubaki makes Hyoma an offer he might not be able to refuse, and the Nagatsuki tsukumogami hold a party.

Hyoma looks into acquiring some better defenses, but acquiring Saenome armor requires him to pass a test.

The battle with Kai reveals secrets that the Nagatsukis would rather leave unknown.

13. Entrance
While Botan reflects on Hyoma's six months with the family, a stir at Kyoto's famous Aoi Festival leads to the revelation of new tsukumogami in town.

Kagami takes Hyoma for a day on the town, while the Bureau of Traditional Music makes their presence known.

15. Specter
Botan's friends continue to pry into her relationship with Hyoma, while a mysterious tsukumogami stalks them from the shadows.

16. Draconic
Hyoma faces off against an entity that may be the one he's seeking, but soon learns that there's more at stake than merely his revenge.

17. Moonset
The fallout from the battle with the paper umbrella forces Hyoma to face a difficult truth in order to unlock his true power.

18. Vow
With the Bridal Trousseau departing, Botan seeks a way to make the best of the limitations placed on her by the Kadomori Saenome.

19. Turbulence
As rogue tsukumogami apply pressure outside the Kyoto Saenome headquarters to get to Botan, the paper umbrella's comrades make their move.

20. Unseasonal
The Kadomori rally to stop the enemy tsukumogami, who are being manipulated by a puppet master. Hyoma stands his ground until help arrives from an unexpected source.

21. Advent
The fight with the enemy tsukumogami continues. As the paper umbrellas join the fight, Tsubaki, Hyoma, and Botan are all pushed to the brink...

22. Dance
The marebito within Botan awakens, and it seems all is lost. Hyoma is forced to make a last-ditch effort to try and prevent the worst from coming to pass.

23. Sparks
The remaining tsukumogami of the Bridal Trousseau and the Bureau of Traditional Music square off, with Warazamawashi waiting in the wings.

24. Fluttering
Hyoma faces Tenjitsu, forced to rely on the power of his own door pulls. In the aftermath, all of the supernatural forces in Kyoto come together to choose sides in the conflict with Warazamawashi.
