Assassin Yun Weishan sneaked into the Gong Residence with the purpose of becoming the wife of Gong Huanyu, the young lord of the Gong's, and obtaining information of the family. On the other side, Gong Ziyu realized that Wufeng assigned an assassin in the bride sent in. When Gong Hongyu found out, he decided to kill all the brides. Gong Ziyu couldn't bear it, and had a conflict with his father.

Gong Ziyu decided to rescue the brides by taking them to the secret tunnel. But they were soon caught by Gong Yuanzhi. Somehow, Zheng Nanyi was revealed to be a Wufeng assassin and was caught. Gong Ziyu thought he would be complimented by his father for catching the assassin. But it turned out that Gong Hongyu already knew Ziyu's plan.

The Council of Elders decided to start Absent Inheritance instantly, and Gong Ziyu was appointed the Sword Wielder. Ziyu was determined to find out the truth. The poisonings in Ladies' Hostel caught Ziyu's attention. Yun Weishan now understood that Shangguan Qian was also a spy, so she revealed her identity to Qian. Weishan changed her target the now Sword Wielder, Gong Ziyu. But first, she had to survive the crisis of being exposed.

Gong Ziyu let his people search the Ladies' Hostel. But Shangguan Qian and Yun Weishan were well prepared. With the appointment of the new Sword Wielder, the bride had to be reselected. Yun Weishan became Ziyu's bride, as she wished. Gong Shangjue questioned the appointment, as he's suspicious of Gong Ziyu's lineage. Gong Ziyu also revealed his doubts about Gong Yuanzhi.

The result of the investigation was announced. Yun Weishan's identity was said to be inaccurate. However, Weishan persisted her identity. Gong Ziyu took this chance to testify against Gong Yuanzhi in front of the Elders.

Shangguan Qian told Gong Shangjue about their crossed past. Though Shangjue was slightly touched, he still hadn't let go of his doubt. Yun Weishan gently took care of Gong Ziyu. The two grew closer to each other. Ziyu asked Jin Fan about the Trial, but Jin Fan kept his mouth shut.

Jin Fan suspected Yun Weishan was related to Wufeng. Weishan explained that she was taught by Qingfeng's Zhuo Mei long ago as a return of favor, as well as a request of revenge. Gong Zishang and Jin Fan were unable to verify, but they understood that Weishan truly wanted to help Ziyu. So they let her enter the back hill. Gong Ziyu met Elder Yue as he entered the cave. Elder Yue was worried, so he decided to send Ziyu off. But Ziyu must cover his eyes.

As Yun Weishan was about to be attacked. Gong Ziyu rushed over to claim that Weishan was his Green Jade Guardian. Weishan also took out the bracelet which Jin Fan gave her, to prove her identiy. Gong Ziyu hoped to become closer with Yun Weishan. Therefore he proposed calling Weishan as Yun. He also promised that he would not let Yun to suffer anymore, and that he'd always protect her.

Gong Ziyu was sick after getting into the Ice Pool. Yun Weishan rushed to the clinic to get medicine for Ziyu.

Gong Ziyu takes the medicine made by Yun Weishan, which helps increase his power. He successfully sneaks into the ice pool and obtains the book. When he returns to the surface, he is exhausted so Yun Weishan gives him artificial respiration. He completes the first trial.

Gong Ziyu returns after finishing learning the techniques. When he wants to tell the good news to his family, he finds that Mrs. Wuji is reluctant to see him, and Yu Weishan gets stuck. Gong Ziyu cannot face the betrayal of Yun Weishan.

Yun Weishan comes to accompany Gong Ziyu, who has a heart to heart talk with her. He thinks the joke makes her shy but he doesn’t know she is being influenced by the Fortnight Flies.

Gong Ziyu and Yun Weishan go to the market together with Gong Zishang and Jin Fan. The latter two intentionally create the opportunity for the two of them to get along with each other. Gong Yuanzhi wants to give Gong Shangjue a lantern but sadly leaves when he sees him having dinner with Shangguan Qian.

Gong Ziyu starts his second trial with Yun Weishan. Elder Yue meets them and they take the boat to the trial site. Although it seems to be calm and peaceful, it is extremely dangerous.

Gong Yuanzhi tells Shangguan Qian that Gong Shangjue has left the Gong residence and asks her to take a good rest. Shangguan Qian questions where Gong Shangjue had gone. Gong Yuanzhi accidentally tells her he went to the back mountains, and she becomes very curious about this place.

Gong Shangjue asks the servants to prepare new clothes for Shangguan Qian. When Gong Yuanzheng notices his brother cares so much about Shangguan Qian, he is so dissatisfied with it.

Jin Fan curiously asks Gong Ziyu if there are any medicines for controlling people’s minds in the world. Gong Ziyu gives him some medicine and asks him to try. Jin Fan thinks that he is cheating him.

Yuanzhi brings people over to Xue Lineage to capture Weishan. Ziyu appears at the right time, claiming that he sent Weishan over to get snow lotus, in order to save her. Zishang meets up with Xiao Hei, wanting him to accompany him to steal something.

Gong Ziyu decides to rescue Yun Weishan. With the help of Xue Chongzi and others, he successfully takes Weishan out. But Gong Yuanzheng and Gong Shangjue are both injured. Ziyu understands that he might be punished by the Elders for breaking the prison; therefore, he starts his third realm's trial right away.

After Wuji's death, Yun Weishan comforted the painful Gong Ziyu, and the two expressed their thoughts to each other...

Gong Ziyu becomes the sword wielder. The elders tell him about the Infinite Heat and the secret of the back hill. At this moment, an explosion occurred in Shang Lineage. Gong Zishang suffered a serious injury.

At the ceremony, everyone fights fiercely with Wufeng, but Wufeng does not expect this is the trap arranged by Gong Ziyu, Yun Weishan and Gong Shangjue.

Jin Fan is brought back along with the Chuyun Chonglian. Gong Ziyu wants to give it to Jin Fan but is rejected by Zishang. Ziyu expresses that Jin Fan is like family to him and that Jin Fan is just as important as him.

Gong Huanyu is reluctant to be caught. Finally, Gong Ziyu and Yun Weishan cooperate with each other to defeat Gong Huanyu. Yun Weishan knows her real identity and hopes to return to her hometown. Gong Ziyu is still waiting for his lover.
