FONG HOK-MAN worked in a bookshop. He has been living with his wife NGAN YUE-YUK and his daughter FONG SUM-MEI. MEI found out that it would be the same day that her eldest brother FONG SUM-MING’s return from Mauritius and her second elder brother FONG SUM-CHING’s back from USA for vacation. MING and CHING were both looking for old friends after coming back to Hong Kong. CHING also looks for job opportunity in Hong Kong. LOSER KEUNG, MING’s old buddy operated a bazaar. The police arrived suddenly and indicated that the goods were stolen stock. MING was suspected being one of the team and under arrested. MEI found some information from web and wanted to help MING understand the fraud tricks in Hong Kong. MING chanced upon LOSER KEUNG in the shopping arcade. He crashed the goods in YUEN WEI-CHUNG’s handicraft shop while chasing for KEUNG……

MING was suspected of theft and was detained in the police station. MAN and CHING then rushed to the police station to help. CHING would like to pay indemnity and settle the dispute. However, as MING has mentioned that the handicraft is trash, CHUNG was so angry and proposed HK$17,000 as indemnity. MING wanted to negotiate with CHUNG privately. However, when MING found that CHUNG was negotiating with her ex-employee ANN, he suddenly acted heroically for ANN. It deepened the hatred between MING and CHUNG. The family thought MING got into trouble again when they found him full of coffee stain all over his shirt. MING did not want to negotiate with CHUNG, he lied that they have already come to a compromise. MEI fell into coma when she found CHING vomiting blood. In fact CHING was drunk after drinking with friends. MAN and YUK were worrying about CHING’s health, thus, they played tricks accompanying him to see herb doctor……

MAN was detained because of hitting SHUE-PUI. MING and CHING then rushed to the police station bailing him out. Having learnt that YUEN-YI was a relative of PUI, CHING then went to hospital and apologise to PUI for his father. CHUNG’s landlord requested to stop the tenancy by using her relative’s sickness as an excuse. However, this was a trap setting up by her good friend PANSY and the landlord. It was because PANSY could earn double commission. CHING brought his family to visit PUI’s coffee shop. YUK then asked PUI about YI. MAN and YUK were so disappointed when they found YI did not intend to work in Hong Kong. While PANSY was accompanying CHUNG to take a look at the new apartment, they met YUK. In order to avoid MING from ruining the business, PANSY kept back from CHUNG about the neighborhood of MING’s family. CHUNG eventually found out the truth and refused to buy the apartment……

CHING promised that he would be back to USA to arrange everything before his return to Hong Kong. However, he quarreled with YI for he did not discuss with her beforehand. MING suggested CHING handling carefully in order not to disappoint his parents. On the other hand, PANSY finally convinced CHUNG to buy the apartment. PANSY showed her friendliness to MING even though he has a bias against her. From YI’s blog, MEI found out that the relationship between YI and CHING was getting worst. MAN and YUK worried that CHING would break up with YI after his return to Hong Kong. MAN has learnt from PUI that YI did not want to come back to Hong Kong when PUI visited their place for dinner. MAN and YUK have worried that CHING would stay in USA because of YI. With PANSY’s arrangement, CHUNG and MING met and discussed about indemnity. In order to buy a new TV for her brother, CHUNG agreed to compromise……

CHUNG thought MING was brutal and did not want to indemnify. PANSY knew that she was in a wrong position, thus, she was willing to pay for MING. However, MING refused. MAN and YUK were told by fortune stickers that everyone would be fine. Having back home, they were so happy as CHING was back. Meanwhile, MAN asked MING to check with CHING as YI was not there. YUK bought MING his favorite durian. CHUNG chanced upon MING in the elevator. Unfortunately, the elevator was malfunctioned and they were both trapped. Meanwhile, CHUNG has passed out as she was not feeling well. MING then saved her by doing artificial respiration. Later on, MING witnessed a robbery while he was on the way to a security guard company for an interview. He caught the robber right away but afterwards, he could not make it for the interview. PUI was having a foot injury, KEI criticised MEI for not being a good girlfriend. They had a quarrel……

CHING and MING both worked in the same commercial building. CHING has acquainted with his colleague HEI-MAN in the elevator in his first day of work. Having learnt that YI would be leaving Hong Kong soon, PUI informed CHING immediately. MAN has nothing to do after retirement. He went to the elderly home visiting his friend UNCLE TONG. Meanwhile, he met CHUNG. In fact, CHUNG was the ex-daughter-in-law of AUNTIE LAN. Having learnt that her ex-husband did not pay the accommodation fee for AUNTIE LAN, CHUNG paid for her right away. CHING has brought YI to the peak but it has brought up her unhappy memory in her childhood. CHING has promised to share the happiness and sorrows with YI. YI then agreed to stay in Hong Kong for two more years. FAI rushed to CHUNG’s place and accused her for instigating LAN to litigate with him. Having seen CHING beating FAI, MING thought CHUNG was a shrew and felt bad for FAI……

After retirement, MAN lived in idleness. He followed YUK to watch the stock market in the bank. However, YUK’s friend blamed MAN making them lost because his reading of books in the bank. MAN visited UNCLE TONG at the elderly home again. He chanced upon the granddaughter KEI of TONG. She lied to TONG in order to get more pocket money. MAN ruined her plan. KEI then played some tricks making MAN falling down. CHUNG has witnessed it and lectured KEI. On the other hand, YI visited FONG’s family. YUK was so pleased about YI while YI and FONG’s family members hit it off well with each other. There was a fire in the elderly home when CHUNG was visiting LAN. In a rush while escaping, LAN insisted to bring along the biscuit can with her. CHUNG then found out that LAN has hidden HK$500,000 inside the can. Having heard the conversation between PANSY and CHUNG, MING then understood that CHUNG was actually the victim……

MAN felt that there was plenty of time but he was in lack of energy. YUK accompanied him to consult the herb doctor. He was diagnosed as mental problem only. YUK complained to MING that MAN has ruined her life. MING then brought up this issue discussing with his brother and sister. They wanted to find a reading companion talking with their father for all about books. LAN told CHUNG that she was afraid that CHUNG would leave her alone after re-marriage. And that was the reason why she hid the money. CHUNG promised that she would be filial to her anyway. Having heard outside the room, MING then realised CHUNG was really a good girl. CHING saw HEI-MAN rushing to the men’s room smacking her boss KA-NGOK. However, HEI-MAN acted as if nothing had happened during the meeting. CHING was bewildered. After work, CHING found HEI-MAN arguing with KA-NGOK because of love affairs. HEI-MAN then got on to CHING’s car……

MAN volunteered to fix the washing machine but eventually he suspended all electricity power of their home by mistake. PANSY met a troublesome client for apartment visit. She recalled her past and told CHUNG that she would have a bright future if she had taken part in a beauty contest and if she did not have a scar on her thigh. Having received NGOK’s phone call, HEI-MAN said she need to admit into hospital. On the way to the hospital, HEI-MAN shared the secrets in her mind with CHING which made him sympathised with her. YI visited FONG’s family for a dinner. She found a set of antique books from internet which has pleased MAN a lot. CHING spoke at MEI’s school for a lecture talk and he was most welcomed by the female students. MEI then had a sense of superiority. While MEI and her classmates were eating at a sidewalk booth, they chanced upon MING with his bad friends talking about women……

MAN showed his friend with the set of antique books that was gifted by YI. He then knew that the bookshop of his friend would be closed soon. MAN was reluctant to part with the bulk of antique books. On the other hand, KEI brought his new boyfriend to the tennis court and wanted to challenge PUI when MEI and PUI was playing tennis. PUI defeated them which caused MEI deeply admired him. She brought her classmates visiting PUI’s coffee shop but was discontented by PUI’s complaisance to the model MICHELLE. YI did not like having ice cream and she even left FONG’s place immediately. In fact YUK did not know YI’s dislike. CHING has created a love song for him and YI which has affected YI. PANSY lied to CHUNG and borrowed money from her. NGOK’s wife told HEI-MAN that NGOK actually just fooled her around. HEI-MAN finally understood she was being cheated. She has even drunk in the office……

CHING was regret for hurting MING, however, he did not know how to say sorry to his brother. Having seen MING was alone having dinner at the sidewalk booth, CHUNG talked to him. He taught him to use a sorry card to reconcile with his brother. MING puts the card in CHING’s room secretly. Meanwhile, CHING also put the sailboat medal back to MING’s room. The brothers were finally reconciled. HEI-MAN decided to resign and look for another job. Unfortunately there was a hacker intruded into the computer system of the company. NGOK has blamed CHING for not doing a good job. In order to help CHING, HEI-MAN decided to leave aside her resignation. CHING received a phone call from her brother asking for prepayment of his accommodation fee abroad when she was shopping around in the supermarket with MING. CHUNG then asked for PANSY to get back the HK$100,000……

Although PANSY was expelled from CHUNG’s home, CHUNG eventually let her back. MING knew that CHUNG was fuss over about money issue. He has lent her some money and CHUNG was so grateful. YUK and MAN have persuaded MING again to go after PANSY, but MING said he did not love her. MAN’s buddy called him and persuaded him to take over the bookshop. MAN was beckoned. MAN told his sons and daughter that she would like to open a bookshop and indicated that he would re-finance their apartment. He even refused to listen to them even though they rejected. CHING and HEI-MAN has inferred that NGOK was the hacker by every piece of traces. However, they could not find a factual evidence to accuse him. CHING has given all his savings to MING and asked him play some tricks passing the money to their father as the capital for opening a bookshop……

The bookshop was going to open. MAN and his family were both working hard for the bookshop. CHING and YI have given a new watch to HEI-MAN. HEI-MAN has also given them a gift which was selected by her mother FAN as a thank-you gift. FAN wanted to sound out how her daughter feels about CHING. HEI-MAN indicated that they were just friends. FAN chanced upon YI at a boutique. Having seen the watch worn by FAN, YI has realized that FAN was her mother who has left her many years ago. However, FAN did not recognize YI. KEI has challenged MEI for a beach volleyball contest. MICHELLE has agreed to participate on behalf of MEI and has helped her win the contest. New boss KEN was in fact a good friend of CHING when they were in USA. The company has organized a welcome party for KEN. HEI-MAN comes with FAN and CHING comes with YI. YI has realized HEI-MAN is her half sister. Having forgiven by CHUNG, PANSY reverted to her old vices……

MING was the first customer of “Turn-the-Page Bookshop”. He bought a love story novel in order to learn how to go after CHUNG. YUK was not feeling well because of overwork in the opening of bookshop. YI then brought her to rest at PUI’s coffee shop. MEI felt that MICHELLE and PUI looked like a couple. She then helped PUI go after MICHELLE. CHING sent HEI-MAN to the clinic as HEI-MAN has gotten her leg injured. In order to thank CHING, FAN has invited him and YI for dinner. Having seen FAN and HEI-MAN’s deep relationship, YI was jealous of HEI-MAN. MEI visited a handbag shop to buy handbag. But she has given up because of the high price. Having learnt that MEI was in lack of money, MICHELLE has introduced MEI to be a part time model to earn some pocket money. CHUNG had to move out from the existing shop location. With MING’s encouragement, CHUNG then actively looked for another shop……

MAN and YUK were busy for the bookshop. However, MAN was headache of the computer system designed by CHING because he was not familiar with it. MEI told PUI about the like and dislike of MICHELLE and suggested him buying her a pair of crystal shoes as a gift. Having noted that MICHELLE was going abroad for a film shooting, MEI and PUI then rushed to the airport and gave her the crystal shoes. CHING was shocked when his “love song” was used by HEI-MAN as a trial song in the new program. He found it embarrassing to tell her the song is for YI. On the other hand, FONG’s family organized a birthday party for YI which has affected YI with sentiments and feelings. CHUNG was reluctant to part from the shop that she has operated for a long time. MING suggested taking some photos for it. MING invited CHUNG for a dinner in a high-class restaurant. Unfortunately CHUNG found FAI dating with other lady there……

YI expresses all her anger and dissatisfaction over the past to FUN and FUN is speechless. CHING rushes out to give explanations but YEE shifts her anger on him. CHUNG wants to organize some paper mud workshops. MING suggests her doing it at the bookshop and MAN supports the idea. MAN and YUK work really hard at the bookshop and MING suggests them selling the bookshop. However, MAN still insists to keep the bookshop for MING’s future. MING hurts himself while catching a thief and his colleagues praise him for his bravery. MAN hurts his head accidentally at the bookshop. YUK and CHUNG send him to the hospital. MING also goes to visit him immediately. CHUNG reveals to MING that MAN is keeping the bookshop just for him. MING therefore decides to quit his job and returns to the bookshop. CHING proposes marriage to YI. YI wants CHING to accompany her to America but CHING doesn’t want to go. They break up eventually.

CHING indulges himself in drinking after separating with YI. YUK tries to persuade YI to reunite with CHING but MAN thinks that this is useless. CHING draws a card for YI but he realizes that she has already returned to America. MING starts operating the bookshop and he finds it very challenging. CHUNG’s younger brother KA HEI returns to Hong Kong during summer holidays. MING carelessly reveals to HEI that CHI has borrowed money from CHUNG and HEI is very curious about the matter. CHI overhears HEI’s telephone conversation with his friend and she suspects that HEI wants to cheat money. CHI reminds CHUNG to be careful. Ironically, HEI accuses CHI for cheating CHUNG and he requests CHI to return the money to CHUNG. CHI is speechless and she moves away unhappily. CHUNG rushes out to stop her and she is nearly knocked down by the plastic surgery doctor KEI HO. CHI wants to ask HO to eliminate the scar on her thigh……

KEI and the others tease MEI at school. The police suddenly arrive and arrest the real offender. HEI reveals to CHUNG that he wants to trade oil paintings and he asks if CHUNG has 800 thousand dollars. CHUNG suggests that she could borrow money from the bank by double mortgage. HEI tells her that he will find other ways to raise money. CHI discovers a diamond ring at HO’s clinic. The owner LAI HA returns to look for the ring. LAI HA wears cheap clothing and CHI misconceives that HA’s ring is a fake one. She returns the ring to HA but later discovers that HA is actually HO’s mother. KEN asks all staffs to have a meeting at the hotel. HEI MAN loses the bracelet given by her father at the beach. CHING helps her search for it and HEI MAN kisses him uncontrollably. CHI meets HEI and she accidentally learns that he has quit school already. CHI reveals the truth to CHUNG but CHUNG doesn’t believe in her……

CHI finally finds a rich boyfriend but she still cares about CHUNG a lot. She asks MING to put HEI on his guard. YUK meets SHU KEI on the street and SHU KEI buys her dried seafood. YUK is very happy and she invites SHU KEI for morning tea. SHU KEI talks with MAN happily about the past and YUK feels that she is being neglected. YUK expresses her anger towards MAN after the meal and they start a cold war. SHU KEI sends YUK some DIY masks but YUK suffers from skin allergy after using it. SHU KEI discovers that MEI and PUI are dating with each other. She promises to keep the secret for them and MEI is very grateful. SHU KEI visits MEI with a chocolate cake. YUK doesn’t welcome her and she claims that SHU KEI is suffering from mental disorder. YUK kicks SHU KEI away with a knife and MEI is startled. MEI reveals the case to all family members and they decide to send YUK to the doctor……

CHUNG cannot accept the great shock and she collapses. She is sent to the hospital and MING takes good care of her. CHUNG finally realizes that MING has been there for her all the time. CHUNG learns that HEI is sent to the hospital because of injury. HEI asks CHUNG to help repay the debt in England. CHUNG gives him a cheque and asks him to start anew. MING and CHUNG finally become lovers. CHING and HEI MAN meet YI while dating with each other. YI is depressed. In order to maintain his relationship with the family, MAN asks SHU KEI out and reveals to her that they are only friends. However, SHU KEI expresses that MAN should stay with her instead. MING wants to tell his parents that he is dating with CHUNG. However, he hesitates to reveal the truth after hearing his neighbor’s bad comments about marriage with a divorced woman. SHU KEI’s son reveals to MAN that his mother has mental disorder……
