1. Welcome to New York
Tim Gunn mentors the next generation of up-and-coming designers; Kelly Osbourne, Christian Siriano and Aya Kanai serve as judges to determine who will make the grade.
2. An Unconventional Carwash!
In the first unconventional challenge, the young designers must create garments out of materials found at a car wash.
3. Teamwork Is Hard
The designers are divided into two teams and must create cohesive mini collections inspired by the decades; one team gets off to a bad start.
4. OMG! That's Michelle Obama
First lady Michelle Obama surprises the designers with a challenge; one winning design will be manufactured and sold to benefit the Peace Corps' initiative, Let Girls Learn.
5. Race to the Red Carpet
The designers are tasked with creating a red carpet look in only five short hours; Tim brings in some talented surprise guests to help the designers.
6. Superstar Clients
The designers' clients for the challenge are the Knicks City Dancers; some designers struggle to work with clients for the first time.
7. OOTD
The designers must choose their muses from people on the streets of New York; the judges struggle with an emotional elimination.
8. Make a Statement
In the final challenge to determine who will compete during New York Fashion Week, the designers must create a look that makes a personal statement.
9. Finale, Part 1
The final designers head home to create their collections for New York fashion week, and receive last minute advice from the judges.
10. Finale, Part 2
Conclusion. In the Season 1 finale, the young designers put the finishing touches on their garments and showcase their collections at New York Fashion Week. Later, the winner is announced.
