Sara Stein: From Berlin to Tel Aviv
As a criminal investigator of Jewish descent working in Berlin, Sara Stein was used to operating independently of everyone else. Her keen instincts and sound judgement enabled her to navigate sure-footedly through many sensitive cases. But it was not until she found herself investigating the murder of an Israeli DJ that politics and religion played such an important role in her life. Now facing new challenges as a detective in Tel Aviv, Sara continues to strive for truth and justice while dreaming of peace for her beloved new home, Israel.

Sara Stein investigates the murder of Tamar, an Israeli DJ and star of the Berlin club scene. While suspicion initially falls on the family of Tamar’s Palestinian boyfriend Khalid, Sara believes there could be more than just a religious or political motive at play.

2. Jewels in the Grave
Now married and living in Tel Aviv, Sara Stein conducts her first homicide investigation in Israel after a local police inspector is found robbed and murdered in his home. While the crime scene resembles a previous robbery, Sara follows the leads in a different direction.

3. Masada
Sara Stein investigates an explosion at the excavation site of the ancient Israeli fortress Masada that killed its chief archaeologist Aaron Salzman. When a network for smuggling stolen artifacts is revealed, the cause of the incident points to possible murder.

4. Old Friends
When the severed hand of missing human rights activist Dori Meyer washes up on a Tel Aviv beach, it is unclear whether an accident or a crime has occurred. But a statement by a young Sudanese refugee reveals a connection that brings secrets to light about Sara's husband.
