1. 1700's Master Bedroom & Library
Carpenter Jeff Devlin restores a master bedroom and library for Brian and Jennifer, who own an amazing stone home in Bucks County, PA. The original home dates back to 1700, and the house was added on to in 1775 and 1930. The two rooms sit in the additions of the home, and lack some of the historic character of the oldest part of the house. Jeff works to uncover the bones of the rooms and brings in added historic details to make each space feel like they belong in the house. Along the way he attempts to find a hidden fireplace, patches up an old staircase and sources unique handmade tile local to Bucks County.
2. 1785 Three-Room Makeover
Carpenter Jeff Devlin takes on his latest project, a 1785 stone farmhouse owned by the Vitale family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Vitales love the historic charm of their living room, which is almost completely in its original state, but they ask Jeff to give a facelift to the 230-year-old fireplace. Their kitchen is a hodge podge of additions that just doesn't match the rest of their house, so Jeff and his team rip the whole thing out and bring in a bright, clean farmhouse kitchen with blue cabinets and fresh white quartz countertops. The mudroom is a strange 1950s addition with no character, so Jeff repurposes old lumber he finds in their garage to create custom storage and add beams to the walls, giving it an old log cabin feel.
3. 1760 Guest House Restoration
Carpenter Jeff Devlin restores a kitchen and living room in a 1760 farmhouse for Tracey and Scott, who now use it as a guest house. The house was the original structure on their farm, which now contains a newer main house and several out buildi. Jeff restores both spaces, bringing in a simple Shaker design to the kitchen and a rustic lodge feeling to the living room. He even searches their property for a beam to use for the mantel, and makes friends with a few farm animals along the way.
4. 1684 Basement Gut Job
Carpenter Jeff Devlin heads to Aston, PA to restore the basement of one of the oldest houses in the area, a 1684 home owned by Janet and Scott. They want to use the space for entertaining, so Jeff creates two bar areas, a sitting area, and restores an adjacent space to ma a functional mudroom and entry way. He runs into issues exposing the original timber ceiling, and launches a hunt in their old barn to find a door to repurpose for the mudroom.
5. 1760 Classic Colonial Parlor
Carpenter Jeff Devlin meets up with Chris and Catherine, who own an amazing stone home built in 1760. The original home is flanked by two additions, one of which is an 1800s Center Colonial farmhouse, which is a style of house that features two identical spaces meant for entertaining. They ask Jeff to turn one space into a classic parlor with a bar area, and the other into a billiards room. They build an amazing bar with a mahogany top, restore an original mantel piece and Jeff works with a local blacksmith to create a custom light fixture to go over the pool table.
6. 1729 Kitchen and Living Room Addition
Carpenter Jeff Devlin heads to the 1729 home of Siobhan and Brian, to take a look at the kitchen and living room additions to their home. The kitchen space was added in the 1800s, but then fell victim to a really bad 1980s remodel. It even has horrible indoor/outdoor carpet as flooring. The living room was added with the 1980s renovation, and is chock full of bad wood paneling. He brings in reclaimed barn beams to create a threshold in between the rooms, adds a unique blend of rustic cabinetry and makes a coffee table out of a surprise piece he finds on the property.
7. Crumbling 1740's Structure
Carpenter Jeff Devlin is recruited by Steve and his son Ellis to take on the original 1740s section of their home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The plaster walls are crumbling, the second floor is sagging and Steve and Ellis are at a loss for what to do with the space. Jeff and his team add reclaimed beams to reinforce the second floor, restore a bedroom and create a new dining and foyer space.
8. 1760 Master Suite
Carpenter Jeff Devlin takes on a dated master suite in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Kim and Rob's 18th century house was damaged by a fire and last renovated in the 1980s. As a result, their master suite is a green-carpeted nightmare that doesn't match the home's original style. Jeff and his team use reclaimed materials to renovate the bedroom and bath so they fit the historic character of the home.
9. 1740's Master Suite in a Barn
Carpenter Jeff Devlin meets up with John and Tina, who own a converted 1740s barn in Westchester, Pennsylvania. John and Tina need help with their awkward master bedroom and bath, which were part of the barn's conversion to a home in the 1940s. Jeff and his team peel back the layers to expose some of the original 1700s structure and bring in reclaimed materials to create a rustic, yet elegant, master suite.
10. 1817 Chopped-Up Kitchen
Carpenter Jeff Devlin is recruited by Brandon, the owner of an 1817 stone house in New Britain, Pennsylvania. Brandon's kitchen was converted from a side porch in the 1970s, but the layout is strange and the materials don't match the style of the rest of the home. Jeff and his team reconfigure the space to create a more cohesive kitchen area, a new butler's pantry and a Colonial-style pantry
11. 1717 Farmhouse Kitchen
Carpenter Jeff Devlin takes on a kitchen and living area in a rundown 1717 farmhouse. The original hardwood floors are a mess, the foyer and living room are drab and the kitchen addition doesn't match the character of the original house. Jeff and his team bring light to the front room by exposing a hidden transom window, and he scavenges their old barn for reclaimed items to create a farmhouse feel in the kitchen.
12. Rundown 1710 Root Cellar
A couple recruits Jeff to turn their crumbling 1710 root cellar into a welcoming wine cellar. Jeff rebuilds a wall in the cellar with original stone and then he commissions a mural to bring historic style to the living room.
13. 1859 Kitchen Restoration
Jeff Devlin is recruited by friends to renovate the 1980s kitchen addition on their 1859 farmhouse. Jeff and his team enhance the room's character with open shelving, a Victorian-style mudroom and built-in seating.
14. Saving a 1717 Spring House
Jeff Devlin takes on a dilapidated 1717 spring house that the homeowners want to turn into a guest house with a writing space. He restores the original stone, sandblasts paint off the rafters and converts the attic into a loft.
