Tears on Fire

Chih-Yuan CHANG goes to the stream to rescue a drowning man. Later, he accidentally sees his elementary school teacher. Han-Cheng CHIU, who loves his job, is in a hard place because his wife asks him to change his job. Tzu-Ling HSU goes on an ambulance mission to help an old woman in the terminal stage of cancer, but the other party begs HSU to drive the ambulance to the seaside of her childhood. This is her last wish in life. The law-abiding HSU hesitates because it is in violation of regulations.

Han-Cheng CHIU breaks into a house urgently in order to prevent the fire from going out of control. Unexpectedly, this causes him a big trouble. Chilli confesses her love to Chih-Yuan CHANG, but his reaction is completely unexpected. Yi-Yang LIN loses the opportunity to rescue a dying civilian because he is called to help an alcoholic WU. WU is not sick or injured at all. He is just drunk, which makes LIN furious. Due to the new laws he has to wait for the police and the chief before he breaks into the house. The time that could save lives passes by, and CHIU couldn't help being anxious.

Han-Cheng CHIU's delay in breaking the door causes an uproar. He is accused of delaying saving people. Yi-Yang LIN goes to the Entertainment World to check the Fire Safety Equipment. However, the manager called in the City Councillor WANG as a threat. The mayor finally assigned the business of catching bees and snakes to the Bureau of Agriculture. Therefore, Tzu-ling turns down a civilian's request for a bee hive removal. Chih-Yuan CHANG tries to rescue a woman from jumping off a building. He is under great pressure…

Yi-Yang LIN goes to the Entertainment World to check the Fire Safety Equipment. But a bigger conflict occurs unexpectedly. Chih-Yuan CHANG is suffering from PTSD but he pretends everything is fine. Later, in a fire rescue mission, he tries to rescue a dying boy but fails, which cause him even greater trauma. Tzu-Ling HSU is dispatched to rescue an old man dying from a bee allergy. However, it puts her into the center of national anger later.

Chih-Yuan CHANG's PTSD continues to worsen, but he attempts to deal with it with cheap shortcuts. Tzu-Ling HSU shockingly runs into her birth father during a mission, which causes conflict between her and her mother. Han-Cheng CHIU heads on a mountain rescue mission, but the rains forces him to camp and stay overnight. His wife, dealing with both crying children alone, is on the brink of a breakdown, but CHIU is nowhere to be found. This causes a bigger crisis within their relationship.

Chih-Yuan CHANG keeps ignoring his problems, and asks Chilli to offer him the anti-anxiety drugs. Chilli hesitates. Due to his marriage crisis, Han-Cheng CHIU compromises finally. He agrees to his wife's request and visits her brother's company. Yi-Yang LIN and the veteran CHEN get into a big argument, but LIN soon learns of CHEN's story. In the evening, the fire alarm rings. The firefighters put on their gears and head towards another battle with fire.

In the burning building, Yi-Yang LIN and the city councillor WANG are trapped on the third floor. Outside of the burning building, Tzu-Ling HSU tries to rescue LIN and WANG. On the other end, Chih-Yuan CHANG is unconscious, which causes Han-Cheng CHIU to be extremely anxious. What is worse, the chief of the team couldn't locate CHANG in the layers of smoke. While everyone is fighting for their lives, the owner of the entertainment world puts pressure on the new Head of the Fire Department to spray water directly at the fire...

In order to push the responsibility elsewhere, the owner of the entertainment world says that the fire safety inspection is passed by the Tongan Department. Therefore, the department is responsible for the fire. The firefighters of Tongan Department are both angry and depressed. They even begin to consider slacking off in the fires in order to save themselves. Slowly they forget their call to becoming firefighters, and the passion they had to save people…
