The Cost Of Lies

Adem, a simple man living a modest life with his wife and two children, works as a straightforward clerk at the mint. Despite wanting to lead a life of virtue, kindness, and ethical values, the harsh financial realities and the weight of his responsibilities as a father begin to overwhelm him. In an effort to cheer up his son Arda, who suffers from bullying, and to prove that he once truly was an artist behind money design, Adem’s actions turn his family’s world upside down. At this turning point, he crosses paths again with his brother Kartal, whom he had kept his distance from—a man notorious for his trickery and scams. Kartal, Adem’s complete opposite, is willing to use any means necessary to make easy money, and has even gotten involved in something that will later haunt them. Faced with his wife Canan’s exhaustion from years of financial struggle and his daughter Naz’s growing expectations, Adem finds himself at a breaking point.

Adem believes that the only way to win his family's approval is to buy a house, which is why he decides to print money just this once, involving Kartal in the scheme. However, for an ordinary man, this is not an easy task; he needs to make a solid plan. On the other hand, Kartal's secret dealings, hidden from his brother, have gotten out of hand. The police officer Ayşe, whom he hit with his car, is now unable to use her legs because of Kartal's actions. The two brothers embark on a money-printing operation in a place that would never cross the devil's mind to fix everything, while Adem tries to pull his family back together. He must quickly win back Canan, who wants a divorce, and Naz, who broke her nose to get cosmetic surgery. Unbeknownst to Adem, who thinks he has everything under control, the money will also bring trouble.

Mesut's accidental death shakes Adem. He has transformed from an ordinary man into a killer. He thinks he has messed everything up. He knows very well that if the truth comes out, he will completely lose his family. When his fears and anxieties are triggered, he will make a decision to prevent his family from hating him. While Canan cannot make sense of the situation, things take a turn for the worse. Kartal, while getting closer to the police officer Ayşe whom he hit, will have his balance disrupted when it turns out that Ayşe's ex-husband is a police chief. The two brothers will be dragged into more trouble because of Mesut, and they will learn that once you make a deal with the devil, you cannot break it a thousand times.

Bayram pressures Adem to print more money. However, Adem rejects Bayram, saying he is not that kind of man. Bayram's men grab Adem and throw him into a distant trash container. As the unconscious Adem struggles to breathe, his eyes slowly begin to close when a shadow saves him. Meanwhile, Kartal is trying to find his brother's trail. Ayşe has recovered after her physical therapy and begins to investigate Kartal. Now able to walk, Ayşe will not give up on Bulgary either and, by secretly following Kartal, uncovers unexpected information. Canan, fueled by Adem's declaration that he wants a divorce, has resolved to live the life she desires from now on.

Adem, who understands that he has been tricked, feels bad about his brother's betrayal. The voice recording sent to Canan, Canan not looking at Adem's face anymore, the distance the children have kept, Canan starting to work at Sinan's restaurant and the upcoming divorce case; all these factors cause Adem to experience a great breakdown. Finding Kartal wounded in the forest, Ayşe tends to Kartal's wounds and the closeness between the two becomes a glimmer of hope for Kartal. Ayşe's pursuit of the money she found puts things in a deadlock. Adem, who is called to the police station, thinks he has come to the end of the road, but the course of events takes a completely different turn.

Adem undergoes a significant transformation after Canan definitively wants to break up and gets into Sinan's car. He realizes that the chapter of Canan in his life has closed. He decides to continue his life with radical changes. With Bayram being taken to the police station, his interrogation begins. He has been caught with counterfeit money. However, Ayşe conducting this operation leads to a confrontation with Fuat. Bayram understands that Adem and Kartal have set him up; he calls Vezir to extricate himself from the situation he is in.

Tarık wants Adem to start printing money for him. He mentions that a counterfeiter always needs a good banker. Adem is surprised that Tarık knows everything about him; however, his decision is clear. He wants Tarık to stay away from both him and his daughter. Meanwhile, Adem begins to investigate Tarık. Kartal, Mesut, and Adem decide to sell the money they've printed through a website, converting counterfeit money into real money. However, this system brings new problems along with it. Adem starts selling the printed money, but now the whole country is after the counterfeiter. Ayşe loses both her position at the police department and custody of her daughter Duru. This underscores her determination to find the real culprits. Adem finally uncovers the connection between Tarık and Bayram.

Adem, Tarık, and Bayram are together. Tarık realizes that Bayram has betrayed him and starts to hold a grudge against him. Adem is happy because he has set them against each other. Ayşe tries to uncover some schemes her ex-husband Fuat is involved in. During this time, Kartal and İsa support her. Kartal, who enters the house as a repairman, finds a clue among Fuat's belongings. Ayşe gains an advantage both for her work and custody. İrfan, who comes to the dry cleaner, sees the whole setup and understands everything. Orhan catches İrfan and detains him. Canan treats Mina poorly because she suspects something is going on between Mina and Adem. Each person experiences their own fate. After everything that has happened, Adem tries to pull himself together but fails. He rushes to Ayşe to confess. However, Ayşe has an interesting offer for him.
