The Night Shift

Medical school drop-out Daníel begins his first night shift at the Shell petrol station n Laugavegur, Reykjavík. He then encounters his two fellow night shift workers, Georg Bjarnfreðarson the shift supervisor, a devoted communist, vegan with an admiration for all things Swedish. And Ólafur Ragnar, and a simple but well-meaning guy obsessed with celebrity culture and instant fame and fortune..

Georg's shift becomes more complicated when he is left to supervise his son Flemming Geir. Ólafur tries to get more time off, and Daníel spends more time with Ylfa.

Georg gets a reprimand from his ex-wife for not spending enough father and son time with Flemming Geir. Ólafur becomes more irritated at the idea of the joint shift fund being used for a holiday to Sweden and Daníel bumps into a face from the past.

Ólafur's dreams of fame get a step closer when he has a chance to attend the X-Factor open auditions, though trouble brews when Georg refuses to give him the time off to go.

The band "Sólin" finally gets their chance of a big break, but Ólafur manages to get into trouble at work so Georg refuses to give him the time off to go.

Ólafur's cheap body building food supplement has some unusual results. Georg manages to racially abuse the wife of a local.

The Sólin posters ordered by Ólafur arrive, it's Daniel's father's birthday, and Benjamín is coming from Nigeria to collect his money from Ólafur.

Georg preaches on the ideals of feminism and attempts to teach Flemming Geir the facts of life. Ólafur comes to work with a hangover. Daníel and Ylfa become closer.

Georg contacts the CEO of the company, much to his annoyance. The shift argue about how to spend the shift fund with Georg desperate to get his own way.
