Welcome, Chitose-chan
Chitose-chan is a penguin who lives in Kyoto. Getting in touch with people and getting fed delicious food as she curiously walks around Kyoto streets is her favourite thing to do. The story features popular places in Kyoto like Kiyomizu Temple, Ginkaku Temple, and Gion from the Penguin's point of view. This is a short story about a penguin that is nostalgic and warm, curing and relieving the heart.

1. Episode 1
Chitose is an emperor penguin chick that lives in Kyoto. She's visiting Arashiyama today. The people in the neighborhood all know her and try to say hi, but...

2. Episode 2
Chitose is taking the train to visit the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine. As she waddles through the torii gates, she comes to a fork in the road! Maybe the two women near her know where to go.

3. Episode 3
Chitose is taking a walk through the night streets, when she comes across an oden cart filled with laughter and friendly warmth.

4. Episode 4
Chitose has arrived at the Philosopher's Walk. Faced with a long straight road she starts running without realizing it. But then, out of nowhere, a frog jumps into her path...

5. Episode 5
Chitose learns about Yatagarasu, the deity of safe travels. She slaps a sticker onto her wrapping cloth and starts walking around Shimogamo-Jinja, and then...

6. Episode 6
Chitose takes a stroll alongside Kamogawa river. It looks like this is a place where couples tend to gather. Chitose wants some attention, but no one seems to pay her any mind.

7. Episode 7
Chitose has a run in with a lovely maiko. She seems to be feeling down while gazing at her reflection in some glass. But then Chitose hears about how drinking from the Otowa waterfall will make you beautiful...

8. Episode 8
Chitose watches over a family that's passing by. It seems to remind her of her penguin mother. Chitose follows the family, which leads her to Ginkakuji Temple.

9. Episode 9
Chitose has come to visit Kenninji temple. She sees a little boy pretending to be Fuujin, and ends up pretending herself. And that's when the real Fuujin and Raijin actually show up...

10. Episode 10
Chitose has stopped by the Kyoto Aquarium. There's a lot of other penguins here. Chitose tries to sneak into the penguin area, and then...

11. Episode 11
Chitose's in a bad mood today. Nothing seems to be working out. In spite of it all, she somehow ends up at the very tall Kyoto Tower.

12. Episode 12
Chitose is asked to do some shopping, and finds herself in the bustling December streets of Nishiki Market. She tries to buy the items on the list she was given, but she can't find the list itself!

13. Episode 13
Chitose's friend Chihiro Tachibana is a member of an art club at her school. She asks Chitose to model for her at Nanzen-ji Temple, but it looks like she might have other things on her mind...

14. Episode 14
Chitose is never seen without her cloth, but there's now a hole in it. She heads to a fabric shop hoping to find material to patch it, but why is she so attached to that old thing?

15. Episode 15
Chitose is visiting the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. She gets a lesson about the person memorialized there, Sugawara no Michizane, but she catches sight of a strange silhouette...

16. Episode 16
One morning, Chitose encounters some grade schoolers on their commute. It looks like there's one little boy trailing behind the others, though. From that point on, Chitose starts showing up at the same time every day...

Chitose's stomach is rumbling as she waddles the streets of Kyoto at night. An office worker invites her to join him for dinner. As Chitose scarfs down her food, he focuses on drinking... and complaining about his life.

Chitose is taking shelter from the rain, when a lady shows up with a paper lantern. Enchanted by the idea, Chitose tries to find out if there's a lantern that looks like a bird.

Chitose heads to Sanzen-in Temple with her friend Chiaki to enjoy some ice cucumbers. That's when an elderly couple seems to gets his name wrong...

20. Episode 20
Chitose has come to the river in Kifune. But because all the restaurants are fully reserved, she sadly has to leave. She was headed to Kifune Shrine when she sees some trees with wishes tied to them for the Tanabata holiday...

21. Episode 21
On the day of the Gozan no Okuribi, Chitose encounters an old lady who wants to see the bonfire from the location she watched it at when she was younger. Chitose tries to help her find it, but they have a hard time...

22. Episode 22
Chitose is cooling off at the house of her friends, the Tachibana family. There, Chiaki's sister makes fun of him for not finishing his essay. But all of a sudden, a creature rumored to live on Mount Kurama makes an appearence...

23. Episode 23
Chitose and Chiaki spot a figure on Mount Kurama that might be Yukinosuke. They both chase after what they've seen when Chitose takes a spill from the stairs...
