Dr. Henry Jekyll experiments with scientific means of revealing the hidden, dark side of man and releases a murderer from within himself.

Noble born Mignon is stolen by a band of gypsies as a child. Her mother dies from grief and her father, unhinged by the double blow, gives up his ancestral home for the roaming life of a minstrel wandering from place to place in search of his child. Ill-treated by the gypsies in time she is rescued by traveling student Guglielno, with whom she falls in love. But he is enamored by the seductive actress Filina. Events come to a climax at a castle where all the participants meet, and drastic actions lead to near fatal consequences until all is resolved happily.

Mabel Normand is the wife of a rather rotund businessman, Dell Henderson. She doesn't get along with her mother Kate Bruce. She steals some money from her hubby to go shopping. Mack Sennett appears briefly as a shop salesman who sells her some furs.

Besides being an interesting drama, the picture shows in detail the entire plant of the Vitagraph Company.

Conn the Shaughraun comes to his rescue, helps him to escape from the prison ship and return to Ireland where he is united with his sweetheart.

Diligent saleslady Nora Grady feels sympathy for a gawky country boy who has been assigned to the wrapping department and takes him under her wing. The owner of the store believed in developing talent and offered a cash reward and promotion for the employee who suggested the best way to display the spring fashions. Nora trying to help, lends the youth an idea and he wins. Promoted to floorwalker his ego swiftly gets in the way and it’s not long before it precipitates in his fall.

Alice Durand, after weeks of discouragement, reads the following advertisement in the New York Herald: "Governess wanted. Young American woman, well educated and speaking French and German, may obtain lucrative position with prominent Egyptian. Fare and expenses will be advanced. Write, enclosing photograph, to Mahmoud Pasha, Sphinx Club, Cairo, Egypt." Answering the advertisement, Alice seven weeks later, secures the position and leaves her New York boarding-house for Egypt.

Roman citizens celebrate their leader, Appius Claudius. However, Dentatus, an old general, expresses scorn for Appius's inexperience. The citizens attempt to attack Dentatus but a young Roman, Icilius, intervenes to save him.

Ruby Blackwell, typical young girl of Arizona, lives with her brother Tom, and their widowed mother in a cabin in the mountains. One day Tom takes Ruby on a lion hunt. They track a puma, or mountain lion. Tom shoots the beast, which, wounded, bounds into the canyon. Tom instructs Ruby to proceed to the ridge and await him there, while he follows the puma up the mountainside. Ruby discovers the cubs belonging to the puma which Tom has shot, and she immediately becomes so engrossed in playing with the huge kittens that she forgets the rendezvous her brother had appointed. Tom finally locates her. The cubs are taken home. They grow up around Ruby like friendly dogs. Pete Lopez, a bad Mexican, who admires Ruby very much, tries to steal one of them at night, after Ruby has refused to sell the animal to him, and the baby puma defends itself vigorously until Tom and Ruby rush to its rescue...

Bob and Dick both secretly love Dorothy but are too timid to propose. Bob rehearses his proposal to Dorothy, accidentally proposing to the maid, who accepts. Dick arrives, leading to a comical standoff. The maid reveals Bob's "proposal" to the chef, who, jealous, bursts in with a knife. Dorothy, finally arriving, clarifies the misunderstanding, and Bob proposes to her, leaving Dick as best man.

Bella is married to engineer Burk who meets with an accident. To provide an income she starts as a performer, but happen to meet an infatuated, intriguing composer. On the brink of marital ruin, she kills the composer.
