Biography
Bowie Lam Bo-Yee (Chinese: 林保怡, born 4 September 1965) is an Hong Kong actor with the TVB network. He has starred in several popular dramas including File of Justice and Healing Hands. Before working in entertainment, Lam held other occupations, including serving in the Hong Kong Police Force for a short time. He made his acting debut in 1986 in Kiss Me Goodbye and his singing debut in 1989. Lam's acting career took off after joining the major television network TVB in 1991. His first project was a supporting role in the 1992 drama The Greed of Man, which starred Sean Lau, Vivian Chow, Adam Cheng, and Amy Kwok. The Greed of Man as of 2011 remained one of TVB's highest-rated dramas. After The Greed of Man, Lam was featured in TVB dramas File of Justice (1994–1997), Untraceable Evidence (1997 and 1999), and Healing Hands (1998, 2000, and 2005). His major break-out role is considered the 2004 War and Beauty, which was a huge success in Hong Kong and China.

He disappeared after defeating by his good friend Shan (Bobby Au-Yeung) in a cooking contest, leaving behind his wife Yuen (Lydia Shum) and his daughter So So (Esther Kwan). Shan then disguised as Kut to help the two women and inspired So to be a good chef. The two became an odd couple but admired each other. Their relationships got complicated when Song (Jessica Hester Hsuan) claimed to be Kut’s fiancee... .
Once Upon a Time in Shanghai
Set in 1930s Shanghai, the story opens with legendary gambler Gon and his vow to recover his father's casino from Shanghai tycoon Fung In his quest, he becomes acquainted with Sou and uncovers her fiance's nefarious conspiracy. Sou gives her heart to Gon, but he can't forget his old love Gu. Meanwhile, up-and-coming gangster Hui Man Keung is quickly making his name in Shanghai. Crossing paths during chaotic times, Hui, Gon, and Ding Lik become brothers and business partners, but Fung recruits Hui and Ding to his side through backhanded methods. Though deeply in love with Fung's daughter Ching Ching, Hui can only turn away from love and friendship when Fung's true nature is revealed. Fung, however, is not about to just let Hui walk away.
